Santa and Christmas Cards

Our visit to see Santa went much smoother than last year. We went right after church so we didn't have to wait in line and there were no tears from either child! Yeah!!

Santa was so sweet and took his time with each child. Spencer told him he wanted a toy. Santa has agreed to come visit our house a little early since we will be traveling. He's the best!! Here is Spen after his Santa visit. He was so proud of the antlers Mr. Claus gave him.

CHRISTMAS CARDS!!

Okay I thought getting a picture of Spencer last year was hard, but OH MY I had no clue what a chore it would be with two!! Spencer yelling that Campbell was touching him, Campbell crying, Spencer crying, Spencer making a crazy face! We finally just picked one. I think it's cute, but wish Campbell was smiling his precious dimpled smile. Maybe next year will be easier...hahahaha. Here are a few from our photo session.

To top it all off.....two messed up Christmas cards got sent out. My sweet hubby stuffed the cards and I forgot to tell him to look out for the two botched cards. It wasn't worth the time or money for me to go back through a 100+ cards so I just let it slide. Oh well...so a couple of people out there think I've totally gone crazy and sent out a crooked photo of unnamed little boys. So if you are one of the recipients...sorry. Hope it made you laugh.

Let it snow, Let is Snow, Let it SNOW

We got our first snow on Sunday Nov 30. It was a light snow about 3 inches or so. Spencer, Daddy, Mr. Mike, Riley and Mason made a tiny snowman. Spencer didn't want to come inside!!

(pic to be added later)

Thursday Dec. 4th it SNOWED like crazy. We got about a foot of snow that day. I ventured outside with the boys for a short while to try and get a few pics and to let Spencer get out and play. He was going crazy to get out and see the snow. Poor Campbell doesn't have a water proof snow suite yet so we didn't stay out long. Thankfully Jake came home a little early to play with Spen. It was so funny seeing him wade through the massive amounts of snow.

We got another 6 inches today. I love the beauty of the white snow, but it sure makes for a slushy mess in parking lots and they don't plow our neighborhood roads!! I need to buy Spen his own shovel and put him to work!!

Thanksgiving 2008

This year I am thankful for..........

It goes without saying that I'm thankful for my husband, kids, family and friends. That's everyday of the year. So, excluding the obvious my MOST THANKFUL FOR LIST of 2008 includes phones, airplanes and the best neighbors ever! Without those phones and planes I wouldn't be able to keep in touch with and see my wonderful extended family. And having friends as your neighbors who also have kids......what a treat!!!!

This Thanksgiving we traveled to Wichita Falls, TX to spend the holiday with Jake's mothers side of the family. We flew to Dallas and then drove three hours. We anticipated the traveling day to be hard, but were pleasantly surprised with our good traveling kiddos. (The flight home was a little more difficult....Campbell was fussy and Spen wet through his diaper and kept telling the stewardess that he was wet and needed to change!)
We had a fabulous time in TX! Aunt Linda had loads of things to entertain the 7 kids. Spencer called her house the "fun house." Every morning he was ready to go to Aunt Linda's fun house. I was excited Spencer got to play with all of his cousins. Campbell enjoyed watching and attempting to grab every ones hair. Unlike his brother, who is not pleased with the hair pulling, the other kids just thought it was funny!

The boxes were a huge hit.

Boys will be boys. The only ones missing here are Campbell and the one and only girl! They were likely inside loving on each other!
Carson and Spencer working hard.
Yep...here they are. Campbell and Elizabeth making each other laugh.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!

HALLOWEEN Week 2008

We've had fun getting ready for Halloween and had a great time celebrating this Friday. I have to admit though, I'm happy to be done getting kids in and out of costumes. I think next year I will choose costumes they can wear while in their car seat. It was a bit annoying having to dress them both in the car before our parties. These costumes are so bulky you can't get them buckled in the seat with the costumes on.

A week before Halloween we visited a local pumpkin patch. Spencer had a great time on the hay ride. He also LOVED choosing pumpkins. He tried to pick up so many pumpkins I though he was going to bust them. It was cute, he kept saying, "Here Daddy, I think you will like this one." Campbell seemed to enjoy it also and babbled during the pumpkin picking. They are quite a chatty bunch.
Picking out one of our four pumpkins.

Having fun with Daddy.

Here Spencer is decorating his pumpkin. After he finished he went to see Jake's pumpkin. He got big eyes and said, "OH Daddy that is such a good job." I think he was shocked to see an actual face on the pumpkin so it surprised him. But the rest of the day he kept telling Daddy what a wonderful job he did. It was so sweet.

Two punkins!

Spencer having a LONGGGG chat and sing with the Mama Pumpkin.

Halloween was a blast. We went with our neighbors to the fall festival at their church. The kids had so much fun playing games, bouncing in the bouncy houses and running everywhere. After the festival and a fast supper we met up with a few more neighbors and the Daddy's and kids took off trick -or- treating. I think the Dad's had as much fun as the kids.

Three Dragons and a ladybug! Spen and Campbell with our neighbors and friends Riley and Mason.
Is he not the cutest dragon you've ever seen!!!
Spencer actually got the ball in the hole! Jake was SO proud!
One tired little dragon.

YUMMMMMM!!! Spencer wants to trick-or-treat every night!!

Fall Days

We have been taking advantage of the beautiful Fall weather. We took a day trip to Estes Park, CO. It was beautiful! Spencer LOVED running around and "touching the mountains". We had a great time (besides losing Campbell's pacifier, which made the trip home a little loud!) We look forward to spending a weekend there soon and we'll be sure to take several extra pacies with us!!

LEAVES.....LEAVES....
Thankfully we got a few pictures of our gorgeous tree before the leaves all fell off. It was a fun day crunching and throwing leaves!!!

Mississippi

Bevie with the boys.
A few weeks ago we spent some time in MS. This was Campbell's first time to be on Southern soil!!! It was also our first flight with two kids. Thankfully, Jake was able to go along for half of the plane ride. He had to stay in Atlanta a few days for a meeting and then met up with us in WP later. Unfortunately, flying to a small airport from Atlanta means you have to go down stairs and then walk up the stairs of the plane to board. NOT FUN when you are trying to carry a toddler, a baby, carry on bag, double stroller and one car seat. Oh and did I mention that they actually told me "we can't guarantee you any help." Jake about bit their heads off when they said that to me so they acted like they were sending help our way. Thanks to about 4 other passengers we managed to get on the plane. It was no graceful boarding or ride, but we did it and are still alive.

Fun times at Bevie and Papa's! Don't you just love Spen's new do. If you've ever had the joy of playing at my house growing up know know Bevie has lots of dress up things. So, this is what Spen walked into the den wearing one day. Too funny! Spen also loved pretending Papa was his motorcycle.

We had a wonderful time in West Point. Campbell was able to meet lots of his cousins and great aunts and uncles. Spencer LOVES West Point. He said as we were leaving, "I love Bevie and Papa's West Point." I loved having extra help for a whole week and Jake and I were able to go on a DATE!!!

Campbell with cousins Ethan and Julia Kate.

Spencer with cousins Bailey, John Douglas and Mary Campbell.

While we were there we also got to see the progress Papa has made with his new office and of course play with everything IN the office.
Papa with the boys. Spencer hard at work! Notice...one hand on the key board and one on the mouse! The kid knows what he's doing.

Jake and Spencer checking out the new office. It's gorgeous. Spencer loved the water fountain the most.
Can't leave the Gravel Pit without playing in the rocks.

Is he cute or what!!! Spen sporting his new BACCO hat Papa gave him. We had a great time and can't wait to see the office once everything is in place.

The day before we left we spent some time in the ER! Spencer woke up from nap with an enormous swollen eye. It looked horrible. We assumed he had been bitten or stung. The doc thought it was some sort of a skin irritation. On the way to the hospital Spencer kept saying, "I just want to open my eye so I can see the houses outside." The next morning the swelling was down enough for him to see! I was so worried that both eyes were going to be swollen shut...now that would have been a fun plane ride!!!

Spen in the ER with Bevie and Papa. A big thank you from me and Spen to both Bevie and Papa. Thanks Papa for getting suckers and Spen's med...twice! Thanks Bevie for playing McDonalds and Library about 100 + times to keep Spen's happy while waiting on the doc.

Due to our time spent in the ER my plan of getting a nice family photo was thrown out the window. Oh well....here is a TRUE family picture...messy hair, swollen eye, dirty clothes and all!!! Maybe next time....I'm not going to count on it though!
